Feeling (More) Human Again
On a Practice of Connection that Sticks
You know when something is so good it just sticks.
An unpretentious coffee shop that doesn’t care about latte art or an Instagrammable interior, but that makes you feel warm from the inside. A place you travel back to that feels like your corner of the world. A trainer that makes you show up again and again.
When it comes to connection, I’ve learned it’s often rhythm, consistency, and a quality of presence that’s become genuinely rare. In a world of not-really-here-but-there and the grief that comes with it (ambiguous loss), of overstimulated nervous systems trying to find each other through the noise. It’s almost eerily strange when someone actually stays. Unafraid to hold silence. To witness you in your fullness, without rushing to fix or respond.
Two years ago, while wrestling with imposter syndrome, scanning the landscape for certifications that could somehow confirm I was qualified enough to speak on loneliness, connection, and community, I stumbled across a practice that did something none of those credentials could. It helped me notice patterns I’d been carrying for years.
Fifteen minutes, human to human, structured deep listening.
Simple and surprisingly sticky.
The practice is built on more than a decade of social neuroscience research from the Social Neuroscience Lab at Max Planck Institute and the ReSource Project — showing that structured deep listening measurably increases resilience, emotional awareness, empathy, and feelings of genuine connection.
When the organisation that held it closed down, I kept a small group of fifteen practitioners going for a year and a half, a Google Sheet, an email account, and weekly pairings run by my very human algorithm.
Earlier this year, some of those practitioners reached out, wishing to share this practice again with the world.
Six months later, here:
Daily Connect, with a new platform, our existing base community of 12+ countries, and a simplified yet intentional way for more of you to join.
What is the practice exactly?
A 15-minute structured practice of deep listening between two people — accessible from your phone or computer, no download needed. One person shares a moment of difficulty and a moment of gratitude from the past 24 hours, noticing how each felt in the body. The other listens — fully, without advice, commentary, or interruption. Then you switch.
Next week we’re hosting two free 45-minute intro sessions (Zoom) — come and try the practice for yourself!

The practice is making me feel a little “more human” again- I feel deeply grateful to connect with others from all walks of life and receive their sharing, as much as being listened to in a safe and nonjudgmental space. Over time, I notice that my body awareness is expanding. The effect radiates well beyond the 15 minutes of daily practice.

To take some minutes (in a systematic way) to reflect on the day just past, intensifies my life. To listen and understand the other person let you feel genuine connection.

Still have questions? Here are a few we hear often.
Is it like therapy or meditation?
Therapeutic but not therapy — no professionals, no advice, entirely peer-to-peer. Complementary to meditation: where meditation trains attention and presence, Daily Connect brings that quality into real experiences and real relationships.
Who will I be paired with?
Someone new every week from anywhere in the global community — different country, generation, background. Despite knowing almost nothing about each other, the conversations almost always circle around the same human experiences. Over time it builds a felt sense of shared humanity that’s hard to describe and easy to feel.
How much does it cost?
We offer a contribution-based membership, from 10 EUR / month, including a two-week trial. This gives you access to our platform (iOS, Android, web), weekly changing partners, micro-lessons as part of your onboarding, and our team’s support if anything feels off. You can pause your practice and cancel anytime.
Do I really need to be available every single day?
We encourage daily practice (at least five days a week; Saturdays are optional) — that’s where the depth comes from. But life happens. If you miss a day, that’s okay. What matters is consistency over time, not perfection. If you need a week off, you can pause your membership without cancelling.
Do you offer this to teams and organizations?
Yes, we do. Previously, the practice has been successfully piloted and implemented with institutions like the European Commission.
This bootstrapped effort has no external investors. Just a small team that believes in this practice, because it changed something in each of us first.
